Improve muscle balance
Remedial massage helps to reduce the tendency for our muscles to shorten and feel tight.  This can lead to tenderness, stiffness and pain in your back, shoulder and neck muscles, especially if you have been standing of sitting out of alignment.

Picture one shows that when sitting out of alignment the muscles at the back of our neck work overtime and shorten, and our shoulders round forward.  Her lower back is also made unstable by crossing her legs.
Picture two shows a balanced alignment. Remedial massage directly treats these overworked muscles, whilst advise can be offered on how to sit in a healthy alignment.

Assists the removal of toxins in the tissues
Massage can relax your connective tissues (fascia) which helps keep them healthy and hydrated, whilst assisting in the removal of waste products in the tissues. This is especially beneficial if you have been exposed to toxins or pollution.

Reduces fatigue and improving
energy levels
The musculoskeletal system is the biggest energy user in your body and if it is not working efficiently we become tired and fatigued. Massage works to keep your joints mobile and muscles feeling soft and supple, and in doing so improves your energy levels.

Reduces levels of anxiety and depression
Massage also has a number of biochemical effects including a reduction of the stress related chemicals in the blood which undoubtedly reduces anxiety levels. Depression is also thought to decrease.  Furthermore, regular remedial massage enhances your sleep which causes serotonin levels to increase, thus improving your mood.
